Uti Nwachukwu is a Nigerian actor, musician, television personality, model and a philanthropist. He is the winner of the Big Brother Africa All –Stars Edition Season 5.
He was born on the 3rd of August 1982 in Ughelli, Delta State but had his up-bringing in Sapele, a popular town in Delta State. He hails from Ndokwa of Aboh community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State. He is the last born in a family of six children.
Educational Background
Uti Nwachukwu had his primary education in Delta State and later at the Igbinedion Education Centre in Edo State where he obtained his first and secondary school certificates respectively.
He went further to have a National Diploma in Computer Science and Education and finally graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Education in the University of Benin, Edo State.
His Career
Uti Nwachukwu started his acting career in school when he made his entry into the Nigerian entertainment industry.
He was a model and was seen on Billboard adverts across major cities of Nigeria and he features prominently in music video and eventually rose to fame after contesting in “The Next Movie Stars” reality television competition. He emerged the first runner up and this rare achievement paved the way for his subsequent features in most Nollywood movies.
Uti continued acting and acted in a number of Nollywood movies, some of which include deep Inside, Broken Silence, The Changer, Nnenda, In the Cupboard, Weekend Getaway, Finding Mercy, Love is in the Hair, History Box, Red Hot, Cobweb, Busting Out among others.
He bagged an award as Best New Actor of the GIAMA Awards held in the United States of America.
Uti is a good Nollywood actor, who knows how to play his role very well unassisted. He accepts any character assigned him by movie producers and directors in the industry.
In October 2008, he participated in the Big Brother Africa Season 3 and was evicted from the house.
In 2010, he again contested and eventually won by defeating his close rival, Munya in a final vote of 8 to 7.
He ventured into music and was successful. His first song “Once In My Life” was released and later in the year, the video of the song was also released to the delight and admiration of his numerous fans across Africa. The song also earned him an award for Best Soft Rock at the Nigerian Music Video Awards.
