Emeka Enyiocha whose real name is Chukwuemeka Michael Enyiocha is a popular Nigerian actor, producer, director and an investor.
He was born on the 6th of March, 1972 in Umuahia, Abia State in south eastern Nigeria. He hails from Umuahia, Abia State and he is the eldest in a family of eight children.
Educational Background
Emeka had his primary education in Umuahia and later at Government Technical College in Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he obtained his first and secondary school certificates respectively.
He later went to Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos to have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts in the year 2002.
His Acting Career
Emeka joined the Nigerian Movie Industry (Nollywood) in 1994 and began acting in the NTA popular Soap Opera “Memorial Hospital”, a film directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imaseun.
He rose to fame after featuring in a number of Nollywood movies, notable and popular among them “End of the River”. It was a movie he acted alongside Julius Agwu.
In the movie, Emeka played the role of Ezebunafo, the fearless and indestructible criminal who rained havoc on the community and the security agents were afraid and unable to arrest him until his source of his power was known and used against him which eventually destroyed him.
The same movie earned him an award for best actor in a leading role at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
He again acted another blockbuster movie, “Peace Maker” in company of Benita Nzeribe, Emeka Ike, Nkiru Sylvanus and other stars in the industry.
The movie was a huge success and very popular and consequently earned him large volume of sales in Nigeria. The movie revealed the role he played as a miser who ate all the money sent from abroad by his younger brother to look after the family.
He used the money to enrich himself by buying big house and flashy cars and married beautiful and expensive wife, while the family lived in abject poverty and penury. The climax of the story was that trouble started when the brother returned home from Overseas and demanded for his money.
The movie also earned him an award for best actor of the year at the African Movie Academy Awards.
Emeka Enyiocha is a prolific actor with over 150 Nollywood movies to his credit. Some of his movies include Left Alone, Blue Sea, Rescue, I Have a Dream, Private Affair, Midnight Love, Love Shooter, Beyond Belief among others.
