Yomi Fash Lanso whose real name is Oluwayomi Oluwarotimi Akanbi Lanso is a Nollywood actor, producer, director and a television personality.
He was born on the 7th of June 1968 in Ebute Metta, Lagos to the family of Mr. Alamu Olansossiwaju and Mrs. Adedoyin Fashola. He is the last born in a family of five children.
Educational Background
Yomi Fash had his primary and later his secondary education at Jibril Martin Grammar School in Iponri, Lagos. After obtaining his first and secondary school certificates respectively, he went to the University of Lagos, Akoka to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
He also trained at the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) where he took a course in Film Directing and Producing.
His Acting Career
Yomi Fash Lanso was a banker before venturing into acting. He joined the Nigerian Movie Industry some years ago and has since acted a number of movies both English and Yoruba genres.
He was however shot to fame after acting a hit movie “Omolade”, a movie was produced by the veteran Yoruba actor Jide Kosoko.
He has featured in over 100 movies alongside the big stars in the industry like Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Faithia Balogun, Opeyemi Ayeola, Babatunde Omidina , Sola Sobowale, Dele Odule, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Adebayo Salami, Jide Kosoko, Sunday Omobolanle, Taiwo Hassan, Yinka Quadri, Funso Adeolu, Antar Laniyan, Yemi Solade, Saheed Balogun and several others.
He is creative, skillful and exceptionally talented actress. He is good at interpreting movie roles and can as well accept any character given to him in most movies. He features in both English and Yoruba genres.
Some of his movies include B’ekunpe Delayed Tears Omolade (Crown Child),The Flirt, Dehinbo The Return, OmoOko Village Girl, Twisted Connection, Lepa Shandy, Ale ariwo Night Noise, Ojo Rain among others.
Yomi is a versatile young man who is also a director. He has directed several movies, some of which include MaseMagbe, Brain, Ibosi Oru (Midnight Wail), TNT (T’eniNt’eni), EseAimodi (The Innocent Sinner), Alajota (The Dancer) Ajumobi (The Relative), Omo West, Ikun (Squirrel), OpaAgemo (The Deity Staff), Korede, Ojo, Alabarin and many others.
Yomi Fash was once banned by the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practictioners for questioning the welfare provided by the association.
Yomi Fash contemplated leaving the industry for good when he was banned by the association.
