Taiwo Babajide Al-Hassan, simply and widely known as Taiwo Hassan is a Nigerian actor, producer and director known for Yoruba movies.
Taiwo was born on October 31, 1959 in Ilaro, a town in Ogun State in south western Nigeria to the family of late Pa Subair Taiwo and Alimot Ayinke Taiwo.
Taiwo’s Educational Background
Taiwo had his primary education at Christ Church School, and Technical College, Ilaro, Ogun State where he was trained as an automobile mechanic. Upon graduation, he got a job with the Lagos State Water Corporation and worked for 13 years before retiring into full time acting profession.
Taiwo Hassan’s Acting Career
Taiwo Hassan started his acting career while still working with the Lagos State Water Corporation as a automobile mechanic. He retired from the Corporation after thirteen years of meritorious service and joined Nollywood in 1994.
He has since starred and produced several Yoruba movies including Owo Blow, Omiri, Wicked Boy, Bolode O’ku, Obinrin Sowuru among others. Taiwo has his co-associates as Jide Kosoko, Funsho Adeolu, Akin Lewis, Femi Adebayo and other big Yoruba celebrities in the industry.

In an interview with Encomium Weekly, Taiwo revealed that he is grateful to God for making him what he is today, saying he is happy and considered himself one of the lucky ones who have properties like houses and latest cars.
According to him, piracy is a major problem in the movie industry and a big huddle to making it in the field. Inspite of the challenges in the acting profession today, he is happy with what he has achieved, saying “my smile is a function of my life, please be happy”.
Taiwo also revealed that aside acting, he is a successful farmer.
