He was born in Lagos state but hails from Esan speaking tribe in Edo State a south-southern Nigeria. Obazele is the 5th child in his family.
Obazele had his secondary education at Anglican Grammar School, Ubulu Ukwu in Delta State for his West African Senior School Certificate.
He went further to obtain a Diploma in Business Administration from Auchi Polytechnic in Edo state.
His Acting Career
Obazele’s passion for acting and movie making dated back to his days as a student in Auchi Polytechnic. He revealed in an interview that his father initially strongly opposed his goal to become an actor.
His father’s earlier objection temporarily dismissed his dream of being an actor and rather secured a daytime job in a Production company.
In 1996, he joined the Nigerian movie industry professionally and acted his first movie, titled Shadow of Death”, a movie directed by Bolaji Dawudu in which he played the lead role.
In 1999, Obazele was already an established actor and started to direct movies. A Guardian media publication in 2016 published a piece which stated Obazele had featured in over 200 movies. Some of his movies include:
