Keira Hewatch is a popular Nollywood actress, singer and songwriter, best known for her role as ‘Keche’ in the movie; ‘Two Brides and a Baby’.
Keira was born November 8, 1985 in Calabar, Cross River State. Her mother, Elizabeth Hewatch, was a teacher with the Nigerian Police force, who raised Keira as a single parent and her father a missionary.
Keira’s Educational Background
Hewatch’s family relocated to Ghana where Keira studied Travel and Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Graduate School of Management Studies.
On completion of her certification exams in 2006, Hewatch decided to make a career in acting. She spent another year in Ghana trying to break into the entertainment industry to no avail, as most of the roles involved speaking the local dialect.
Keira Hewatch’s Acting Career
Keira began her acting career on her return to Nigeria in 2007, to pursue her passion for acting.
Hewatch’s first break came in the television series, ‘Cross Roads’ produced by Emeka Ossai.
In 2010, Keira starred as the lead role in her first but adjudged failed science fiction/futuristic movie, ‘Kajola’ starring alongside Desmomd Elliot, directed by Niyi Akinmolayan. The film was not well received in Nigerian cinemas.
In 2011, Keira Hewatch starred as ‘Keche’, in a movie, ‘Two Brides and a Baby’ alongside OC Ukeje, Stella Damasus-Aboderin, Chelsea Eze and Okey Uzoeshi.
Keira revealed at a later date that her strong passion for acting was inspired by the children of The Sound of Music after watching it for the first time at the age of 5.
