Ruquyat Adeboye: Crowned Most Gorgeous Girl, Nigeria (MGGN) 2023/2024.
Newly crowned Most Gorgeous Girl, Nigeria (MGGN) 2023/2024 has been announced. She is Queen Ruquyat Adeboye.
The 23 years old Queen was crowned recently in a colourful ceremony that was attended by the Managing Director MGGN and Queen’s mother Anteyi Grace Ene, past winners, family members and philanthropists across Nigeria.
Ruquyat, a Muslim and a graduate of Law from the University of Maduguiri, hails from Kwara State, Nigeria.
In her acceptance speech, Ruquyat pledged her support to do all within her best to help thousands of girls embrace the beauty of education during her reign.
Speaking at her installation as the new MGGN in Abuja, Queen Ruquyat said education was a fundamental human right that should be availed to every girl-child irrespective of their age and nationality.
In her words, “……I have a lot of job before me. I have to go all out and preach the importance of education. Girl education means that you don’t have to offer someone your body before getting anything in return. Education will also help you to communicate better with people. So educating the girl child is the best thing to happen to you”.
She went further to state that “I am very passionate about Sustainable Development Goal project (SDG). The United Nations want to achieve the goals by 2030. I believe that if any individual especially girls align with this goal, they will achieve a lot because it starts from the grassroots and that is what my project revolves around,”.
Ruquyat Adeboye also pledged to meet people at the grassroots to sensitize, educate and empower them to enable them execute SDG project in their locality.
She was full of praises for the organisers of the MGGN for finding her worthy of the crown, especially for their indiscriminate search for the rightful person.
Speaking with AIT on Kakaaki on Friday the 19th of August, the beauty Pageant revealed that she had been doing some projects. Emerging the MGGN, she said would uplift her position to do more to enhance the educational system and raise the much needed awareness of gender-based violence, gender equality, cleanliness, decency and economic growth,” she said.
“Before MGGN, I have been executing some projects. Now MGGN has uplifted my position by giving me all the things I need in pursuing this project”, she said.
“Ferminity means being strong and being able to compose yourself at the same time and also communicate the way you want to.
“I will like every woman out there to know that they do not have to comply with anything they do not want to do. They need to know that they themselves are good enough and all the things they can offer is what is in their head. What they have upstairs. What their brain can offer not what their body can offer. The body is not an option, your brain is all the option you need,” she said.
Receiving a gift of Mazda Cx – 9, Queen Ruquyat Adeboye was full of joy and praises for the organizer and President of MGGN, Barrister Paul Edeh who she described very transparent in their selection.
On his part, Barrister Paul Edeh who is also the President of Ratels Sports Development Foundation, described Queen Ruquyat as a phenomenon.
He said his organisation came up with a thing like this, ‘pageantry contest’, to freely define what it’s all about and to showcase the Nigerian culture.
Barrister Paul also revealed that the programme was designed to put things together for young girls who have the interest to aspire to be Queens and use the platform to propagate their God’s given talents.
“We have successfully organised a pageantry where we have individuals competing and being their real self without necessary exposing their bodies to mankind. That for us was the motivation to do this,” he said.
He said the first assignment for the newly crowned Queen is “the urgent project of how to interface with the FCT Education Board to be able to organize the FCT Inter School Festival in September, 2022. That is the most urgent and pressing project she will be part of.”
Barrister Edeh concluded that this year’s edition stood out following the quality of the participants. He added that the winner of the contest merited it including the caliber of other young girls that won the first, second, third to fifth positions.
He summed up by saying that the people are very unique in their own way, without having to bribe anybody or defile their body to win the competition, but are ladies capable of representing the country anywhere in the world.
