He was born on the 14^th of July in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Baba Arinze hails from Badagry, Lagos State. He grew up in the oil rich city of Port Harcourt where he had his primary and secondary education respectively and started his comedy career. Year of his birth is however not known. Recently, Baba Arinze was a victim of soldiers brutality. According to the comedian, the sad event happed on his way back from a show at Enugu. His vehicle met serious traffic hold-up caused by a Police check point and every road user was eager to get out of it as hastily as possible.

In an attempt to get in front, the driver of another vehicle, a Toyota Sequoia Jeep with transparent front window and tinted back window ordered Arinze to let them in front. His refusal led to two soldiers in the said vehicle to jump down and gave him the beating of his life with injuries on his body. He could not identify the plate number and the two soldiers and was indeed an unforgettable bitter experience in his life.
