Rema whose real name is Divine Ikubor is a Nigerian Afro beats singer, recording artiste, stage performer and a song writer.
He was born into a Christian family in 2001 in Benin City, Edo State in south southern Nigeria. He hails from Edo State and had his up-bringing in Benin City.

Rema had his primary and secondary education in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria. After the usual first and secondary school certificates respectively, he made his journey into music, which of course began at a very tender age in local churches and schools.

Rema became the first African artist to win the Best Afrobeats Award, which was introduced this year as MTV VMAs.
In his acceptance speech, the talented artiste was full of praises to Selena Gomez and originators of Afrobeats, Fela Anikulapu kuti, Davido, Burna, 2Face Idibia and other top key players in the industry.
