Fred Amata is a renowned Nigerian actor, director, producer and television personality.
He was born on the 12th of July in Delta State to the family of Mr. John Ifoghale Amata who was reputed to have shot a Celluloid Film “Freedom” in the year 1957. He was a veteran playwright and an actor before his demise in 1997.
The mother was also a famous actress. So Fred emerging from the family background of entertainers no doubt drew his inspiration from his parents. All his siblings namely Zack, Alex, Erumena, Ruke and Elomai are all entertainers.
Educational Background
Fred had his primary and secondary education in Delta State in south southern Nigeria and later the University of Jos where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. After graduation, he joined Nollywood, a career of his dream that earned him fame and popularity in the movie industry.
His Acting Career
Fred Amata joined the Nigerian Movie industry, Nollywood and made a remarkable success. He acted in a number of blockbuster movies including Letters to Strangers, Tumini’s Song, Road to Redemption and others.
He however rose to fame after starring in a hit movie “Legacy”. It was this movie that earned him fortune and recognition in the entertainment industry.

He has acted a number of movies and made a tremendous contributions to the development of entertainment industry in Nigeria. He was the former President of the Directors of Guild of Nigeria on April 2015.

Fred has had a number of relationships. He married to the famous former television host “Inside Out”, Agatha Amata and the marriage produced two kids before they called quit.
He again entered into another relationship with former Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president Ibinabo Fiberesima and we learnt she had a daughter for Fred. He later on entered yet into another relationship with Mor Okonkwo which was very brief before finally settling down with Monalisa Chinda, a Nollywood star and the marriage took place at the Heavens Gate Christian Soap Opera.
