Kunle Afolayan is a renowned Nollywood actor, producer, director and television personality.
He was born on the 30th of September, 1974 in Ebute Metta in Lagos State. He hails from Igbomina Yoruba descent in Kwara State, in south western Nigeria. He is the son of the veteran movie director and producer, Ade Love.
Educational Background
Kunle had his primary and secondary education and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He worked as a banker before making a career in acting.
He made a remarkable success in the entertainment industry and called it quit in what people will call exhautic bank job to become full time film maker. He went for a course at the New York Film Academy in the United States of America.
Since then, he has made a good progress in Nollywood and produced and directed a number of movies in Nigeria, some of which include The Figurine Araromine in Yoruba and English, Phone Swap and others alongside veterans in the industry like Joke Silva, Wale Ojo, Ramsey Noah, Nse Ikpe Etim and Chika Ikpala widely known as Zeburudaya.
Figurine was such a successful movie with huge volume of sales. The same movie earned him 5 successive awards at the African Movie Academy Awards.

2011, Kunle and Zeb Ejiro represented Nigeria Movie Industry (Nollywood) at the Subversive Film festival, where they received Nollywood Global Award as the number two largest movie industry in World ranking in 2009.
A strong anti-pirate, who believes that a hard working and successful individual should reap the fruit of his labour. He demonstrated this in 2015 when he posted in tweet accusing the Ibos as the dominant copy rights hubs in Nigeria.
This comment did not go down well with Kunle who had to apologize especially to the Ibos who saw it as unfounded accusation. He defended this by saying he was only trying to guide against piracy which was a major problem in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
