Ruth Kadiri is a Nollywood actress, screen writer, film producer and a philanthropist. She is one of the few script writers in Nigeria.
She was born on the 24th March 1988 in Benin, Benin City in Edo State in south southern Nigeria. She however had her up-bringing in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
She revealed in an interview that her big dream was to be great in life and this she pursued with great vigour. Today, she is one of the sought-after in the entertainment industry.
Educational Background
Ruth had her primary and secondary education in Lagos. After obtaining her first and secondary school certificates respectively, she went to the University of Lagos where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Business Administration from Yaba College of Technology. Since graduation and joining Nollywood, she has remained active and relevant in the movie industry.
Her Acting Career
Ruth had her journey into acting, dated back to her early days in church and school when she used to write scripts even before she started accepting minor characters in movies.
She revealed that she had her first audition with the Nigerian renowned producer and director Wale Adenuga Studios. It was then, she met her friend Victor Eze who had a school writing. Ruth’s first script was ‘Wild and Dirty’ and she later came up with subsequent write-ups.
She rose to fame after starring in a movie ‘Boy’s Cot, a movie she featured alongside top Nollywood stars like Jim Iyke, Mike Ezuruonye, Nonso Diobi and Uche Jombo. The same movie earned him huge fortune in the entertainment industry.
Ruth is skillful, talented and exceptionally gifted in acting and interpretation of movie roles. She can as well accept any role or character assigned her by movie producers and directors in the industry.
She has acted in over 100 movies since joining Nollywood some of which include First Class, Over the Edge, Ladies Men, Sincerity, Heart of a Fighter, Matters Arising amongst others.
Ruth is also a Philanthropist. To this end, she set up a foundation, ‘Ruth Kadiri Kids’, a platform designed to help the less priviledged children and up-coming Nigerians to achieve their goals and dreams through financial help and inspirational teachings.
