Naira Marley whose real name is Azeez Fashola, is a famous Nigerian singer. He is reputed for his hit track, “Issa Goal”.
He was born on the 10th of May 1991 in Agege area of Lagos State. At the early age of eleven years, he moved to Peckham, in South London where he had his up-bringing.
According to him, as a young boy, he never dreamt of becoming an artist, though he had the childhood ambition of becoming an MC and Voice Over artiste.

His musical journey started like a play. The singer revealed that he was out to help his MC friends in Peckham to manage their rap careers but later found out that he was highly talented in singing and that marked the beginning of his music exploit.
Naira Marley began his music fully in 2014 after discovering the hidden talents, creativity and prospects in his music career.
Without looking back, he went ahead to release one of the World cup songs of the year titled ‘Issa Goal’ and in the music, he featured Lil Kesh and another sensational rapper Olamide. The song was highly successful as he fused UK funky drum patterns with Party lyrics.
Asked about how he got the name Naira Marley, he disclosed that the late legend Bob Marley remained his inspiration, known for keeping dreads. The close resemblance with the former king of Reggae in keeping dreads and others called for the name Naira Marley.

NAIRA MARLEY arrest by EFCC
Naira Marley was arrested by the EFCC on the 10th of May 2019 which coincided with his birthday. He Zlatan Ibile, Rahmon Jago, blogger Biesloaded and one others were accused of credit card fraud as an instrument to defraud people and was subsequently arrested and arraigned by Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
Even when four others were released, Naira Marley remained in detention and was later charged to court on 11 count charge.
