Munachi Abii has her birth name as Munachi Gail Teresa Abii Nwankwo. She is a renowned Nigerian rapper/hip-hop artist, songwriter, television presenter and model.

Munachi was born and brought up in Port Harcourt. She hails from Owerri, Imo State.

Munachi’s Educational Background

Munachi had her primary and secondary education at the Federal Government Girls’ College, Abuloma Rivers State for her first and secondary school certificates respectively.

She later studied International Relations and Diplomacy at the Benson Idahosa University in Benin City, Edo State.

Munachi Abii’s Music career

Prior to winning MBGN, Muna had performed as member of Port Harcourt-based rap group, The Specimen A and collaborated with Terry Da Rapman on the critically acclaimed My PH Girl.

Munachi emerged the winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2007 in her second year in the University. Her platform as reigning Queen centred on Polio and Sickle cell Awareness.

Munachi also represented Nigeria at Miss World in China later that year.
She performed as Babyrella before changing her stage name to Muna. She is also a songwriter and has written songs for artistes like J Martins and Waje. She is also a solo rapper.

In 2009, Muna worked with MBGN 2000 winner, Matilda Kerry on a project to raise awareness on Cervical Cancer.

In June 2010, after years of collaborating with various artistes, Muna signed a multi-year management contract with Ayo Shonaiya’s RMG company and started working on her debut album The Goddess, The Hustler, which included the singles ‘I Feel Real’, and ‘Killer Queen’.

Muna has also made several appearances with other hip hop artistes where she wrote the lyrics and featured on Waje’s hit single, ‘So Inspired’ and also appeared in rapper Suspect’s video for ‘I No Send You’ in early 2011.

Muna is currently one of the female rappers to have featured and represented Nigeria on the globally televised BET Cypher for the BET Awards in 2011.

In April 2012, Muna released two singles ‘Here To Stay’ and ‘Down Down Low’.

In 2011, the super talented Muna signed an endorsement deal with Unilever as a model for Lux. She currently features in commercials for the brand where she earns the bulk of her money.
