She was born on July 17 1997 in Goron Dutse, Kano State in northern Nigeria where she had her primary and secondary education respectively.
Her Acting Career
Yahaya who nursed her strong ambition for acting dated back to her childhood was inspired by most Hausa movies she watched.
She made her debut in a movie, Gidan Abinci. She gained recognition for starring in Taraddadi, a movie directed by Elnass Ajenda.
Her brilliant performance gave her roles in several other movies including Barauniya and Tabo where she played minor roles.
Maryam was shot limelight after playing a lead role originally meant for Bilkisu Shema in Mansoor, a hit movie directed by Ali Nuhu.
