Chibuzor Oji is his birth name, but simply and fondly known by his stage name as Faze. He is a popular Nigerian musician and actor.
He was born in 1977 in Festac Town, Lagos. Faze is the fourth child in a family of nine children and all his siblings are said to be gifted in singing vocals.
Faz’s Educational Background
Faze had his primary and secondary education in Lagos respectively. There is no further available information about his educational background.
Faze was a member of the defunct Nigerian hip hop group, Plantashun Boyz, made up of BlackFace Naija and TuFace (better known as 2face Idibia. The group disbanded in 2004 and each member now in separate way to launch solo career.

Faze began his music journey in 1994 and was shot to limelight when he won the 1994 DBN Karaoke contest.
He performed as a rap musician under the name Lyrical Orge until he joined the Plantashun Boiz.
Faze released his first solo hit titled, “Faze Alone” in the last quarter of 2004, a song that was very successful and top the various music charts.
Faze other hit songs include “Angel Gabriella”, “Miss U” and “Na True” and many others.
He calls his brand of music Universal Flavor, a fine blend of R&B, Reggae, Pop, Dancehall, Ragga and Soul, all with an African undertone was further popularized by the release of the album.
The talented singer has been widely adjudged one of the best-selling Nigerian artistes with his first album ‘Faze Alone’ selling over three million copies.
Faze second and third albums, ‘Independent’ and ‘Originality’ were also very successful and sold over 7 million copies.

Faze is the first Nigerian artist to have three consecutive platinum albums. He is known for his ability to sing the highest vocal note out of Nigerian contemporary male musicians.
The music star was in partnership with Wyclef Jean to produce a hit single titled, “Proud to Be African”.
Aside music, Faze is also talented actor. In 2011, he made his acting debut starring in the lead male role of ‘Lovechild’ in the critically acclaimed Nigerian movie, ‘Alero’s Symphony’.
He also provided the movie’s soundtrack for which he won an Africa Movie Academy Award in 2012, in the category of Achievement in Soundtrack.
