Actress Faithia Balogun: Biography And Net Worth

Fathia Balogun is a popular multi-award winning Nollywood actress, movie producer and director.
She was born February 5, 1969 in Ukwara in Delta state. Faithia is from Okpara village in Delta State in south southern Nigeria. She grew up in a polygamous home of nine children and had a Catholic background.

Educational Background

Faithia had her primary education at the Olufunmila Nursery School, Ikeja, Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School respectively in Lagos state.

She later went to Kwara Polytechnic to obtain a Diploma in Law.

Her Acting Career

Faithia Balogun worked at low-paying jobs as a receptionist at Chips Bit and Bit, a computer company in Ikeja, Lagos where she used to earn N5,000. Through the help of her mentor, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, Faithia launched herself into the Yoruba movie industry in the 90s.

She mostly features in Yoruba movies and she has appeared in several movies since she began acting. Some of her movies include:

Recently, the talented Nollywood Yoruba superstar featured in a movie Shola Arikusa where she starred alongside top Yoruba celebrities like Odunlade Adekola, Yinka Quadri, Remi Rebecca, Femi Adebayo, Kazeem Bello among others. The movie was produced and directed by Segun Ogungbe.
It was a tragic movie which revolves around Shola Arikusa whose father was killed over political appointment. Again, the entire family was wiped out and the only option opened to her was to turn to the god of Ijamido for vengeance.
Faithia recently set up a foundation known as Faithia and I, a non governmental organization created to support the less priviledged children morally and financially.

Faithia Balogun is a recipient of several awards. Some and most recent are:
• 2008 Most Oustanding Actress, Indigenous at the African Movie Academy Awards.
• 2008 Best Indigenous movie for her role in movie Iranse Aje.
• 2014 Best actress of the year at the African Movie Academy Awards.
• 2015 Best Indigenous Language (Yoruba) Award for her work, Iya Alalake at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
She is loved by a lot of Nigerians who enjoy watching Yoruba movies. A lot of people also admire her good looks and acting skills and creativity.

Her Personal life
Faithia was formerly married to veteran Nollywood Yoruba actor, Saheed Balogun, with whom she has two kids, a son and a daughter. She also has a son from an earlier relationship. Things however turned awry which led to their separation and eventual divorce.
In an interview, Faithia revealed that she was still married to Saheed Balogun no matter their differences.
Recently, Faithia changed her name from Faithia Balogun to Faithia Williams. She revealed in an interview that it has nothing to do with their failed marriage but a rebranding effort to further strengthen their marriage.
