Rita’s Educational Background
Rita Edward had her primary and secondary education respectively. She later went to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) School and learnt the art of presentation and public speaking.
She also did one year training with Open Eye production run by her acting coach and mentor, Ifeoma Fafunwa. Rita was later certified through the British Council Master class workshop.
Rita admitted that she used to be a very timid and conscious child, a clear departure from her adulthood. She also loved reading a lot and her older siblings always gave her books as birthday gift.

Rita was introduced into acting through her younger sister who was her motivating factor in 2010, when she literally dragged her to her first audition.
Rita amazingly featured in her first movie, “Aina” after series of auditions, a short film produced and directed by Olamide Maarore.

Rita Edward revealed that her most challenging role was in the movie, ‘Misfit’ when she had to depict the role of a retarded woman who had a lisp. She had to take her time to study how someone of such a nature would behave and be able to pull it off believably.

Rita Edward cited top Nollywood celebrities like Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Bimbo Akintola, Joke Silva and her own mother as her role models for their epitome of models.
Rita is into other passions like radio dramas/jingles or radio advertisements (jingles) and resource management.
The Nollywood superstar likes reading books, movies, learning and making friends. She however dislikes gossip, unkind and lousy people. Rita maintained she is an easygoing person who believes in doing the best she can at every point in time.
