Ayorinde Kehinde Okiki is his real name, but widely and professionally known as DJ Kaywise. He is a popular Nigerian disc jockey and record producer who has attained prominence in Nigeria topping songs with other numerous Nigerian music giants.
Kaywise was born in Lagos on August 4, 1992. Kaywise hails from from Ile Ife, in Osun state. He grew up in Lagos State where he had his primary and secondary education respectively. He later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
DJ Kaywise Career
DJ Kaywise kick-started his career as a record producer but later picked interest in Disc Jockey in 2010.
Kaywise was shot to limelight after his “Emergency” mixtape, a combination of songs which broke into the mixtape market in Alaba market in Lagos.
He has so far released over 10,000 CD Mixtape, 50 Online released mixtape and multiple music and visuals with top Nigerian and African artistes respectively.
Kaywise broke into the mixtape market in Alaba in the year 2010. He has since gained prominence as a DJ in Nigeria and has released chart topping songs with many Nigerian music stars.
Kaywise released his debut single in 2012 titled, “Hangover”, featuring Dammy Krane and Yung 6ix.
In 2013, the talented music star featured Iyanya on a single titled “Loyalist”. He has released singles with other high rated Nigerian musicians including Mayorkun, Naira Marley, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Vector and Ice Prince.
Kaywise is such a versatile, creative and highly talented DJ star.
In 2019, he set up his DJ academy, otherwise known as Kaywise Academy.
He thereafter released a mixtape titled “Revolution Mix Vol1” in solidarity with the EndSars movement that started in Nigeria in 2020.
In August 2020, the talented DJ and music star released his single, “What Type of Dance” featuring Mayorkun, Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile. The music was very successful and topped number 5 on the Billboard Top Triller Global chart.
DJ Kaywise has also released other good songs including the recently released song, “High Way” featuring Phyno. The song was released in the month of December 2020. The single peaked at number 7 after spending two weeks on the Billboard Top Triller Global Chart.
DJ Kaywise has also hosted a good number of concerts including the maiden edition of his street concert titled, “The Joor Concert” in 2016.
The first four editions of the concert were very successful with over 50,000 fans in attendance. He has since had the fifth edition of his annual street concert since its inception.
The Joor Concert has been hosted in different cities across Nigeria with two editions in London and Dubai respectively.
