Veteran actress Chinye Owoh popularly known as “Mummy Chinwe” was born in Enugu StateNigeria. Her actual date of birth is not really known. She is a Philanthropist, producer and co-producer. She is very talented and gifted in acting.

Chinwe Owoh’s Career

 

Chinwe Owoh joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 1999. In 2001, she acted in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Mothering Sunday” which brought her to fame and since then she has appeared in over 200 movies including My Heart, Raging Tigers, Traditional War, Black Christmas among many others.

 

Chinwe Owoh always acts as a Mother, Queen, step mother, grandma and widow in many Nollywood movies. No wonder, she is referred as the Big mama in Nollywood industry.

Chinwe Owoh who hails from Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria is well known for acting the motherly roles virtually in almost all her movies. Her roles in Nollywood are emotionally laden as she cries a lot in tragedy and sorrowful movies.

People have said that Chinwe is so deeply involved in her roles in movies thereby making it to appear so real. She is currently one of the highest paid actresses in Nigeria.

Recently, there has been this controversy surrounding Chinwe on who her husband is. Many have argued that Nkem Owoh, the popularly Nollywood Actor is her husband. But the truth has come to light that Chinwe Owoh happens to share the same surname “Owoh” with Nkem, but  her husband is not the Veteran Nkem Owoh as is widely claimed in many quarters.

 

She is married with many children and grand children and currently, she is in Enugu, South Eastern part of Nigeria with her family.
