Tope Alabi is a popular gospel singer, actress, music composer and a role model. She was born on October 27, 1970 in Lagos State into a family of five children to Pa Obayomi Akinyele Joseph and mother Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. Tope hails from Ogun State Nigeria.
Tope Alabi had her primary and secondary education in Ibadan. After obtaining her First School leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary Certificate respectively, she proceeded to Ibadan Polytechnics to obtain a higher National Diploma in Mass Communications in the year 1990. Before now, young Alabi had developed passion in drama and music. This led her to join a local comedy group called Jesters International, an ideal place where she had her preliminary training and skills in drama and music.
After her graduation from the Polytechnics, Alabi worked briefly as a Correspondent with NTA, Ibadan and Advertising Company in Lagos. The two places she worked served as a platform for her added experience and a preparation for the journey ahead.
She later went back to the profession of acting in 1994, by joining a renowned Theatre group – Alade Aromire Theatre Group. This group is the ladder that launched Alabi to fame both in acting and music career. As at today, she is reputed to have developed soundtracks for the theatre group and several Yoruba movies with over 400 soundtracks to her credit.
Her first album “Ore ti o common” came to prominence in 2001. She has since released close to 20 albums.

Her Personal Life
Tope is happily married to Soji Alabi, a Studio engineer and music producer, then working with a recording studio in Ikeja, Lagos. The marriage is blessed with 3 children – one boy and two girls.
Something remarkable about this young woman, Tope is the way and manner she holds her husband to a very high esteem. She sees marrying Soji as her husband as the best thing that can ever happened to her, a man of compassion, calm and a source of her inspiration. To her, Soji combines the role of a husband, career manager and a producer, a good combination that contributed immensely to her achievements.
